Job Overview (What You’ll Do):
Cotopaxi is looking for our next Store Manager to lead the Boston team!
At our brick & mortar stores, profit is a byproduct of good conversation. Our Store Managers recognize the value of both internal and external relationships and they/she/he looks to foster an environment that welcomes people from all backgrounds no matter what their connection and experience is with the outdoors.
As the Store Manager you are responsible for all aspects of the store operations, the development of your Llamas, and local engagement. Whether you are creating campfire connections with our customers and neighboring stores, coaching your Guides on our newest products and sales approach, planning local events, or managing the store P&Ls, the success of this location starts with you .
As a retail leader you will continue to scale your team to achieve current goals and set up your location for future success, while also being a lifeline for other Store Managers and contributing to our unique retail culture. Most importantly, you will guide our retail team through the embodiment of Cotopaxi’s values, leveraging your desire to inspire others and be a part of the local community.

The Experiences We Look to Create
Have a strong floor presence - lead your Guides by example in making memorable moments for our customers and ensuring a consistent best-in-class experience for everyone.
Be the in-house expert on Cotopaxi products and initiatives, and share that knowledge with your Guides.
Coach and develop your Guides through encouragement, training, and productive feedback.
Positively impact the community! Organize monthly revenue and community driven events.
Uphold our mission-driven values and plan volunteer opportunities for you and your team to participate in.
Be a brand ambassador - live and inspire the Cotopaxi culture and values of people, impact and adventure in and outside of the store!
Operations and Expectations
Drive KPI’s by measuring, monitoring and taking action to ensure there is a positive impact on the P&L.
Strategically manage the store’s budget and P&Ls.
Collaboration is key. Partner with your leader on business development, community engagement, and team management to ensure store success.
Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage the hiring of your herd.
Flexibility to work varying hours to support team and store needs including holidays and weekends.
Spruced and ready - manage inventory levels, ordering and receiving, and back of house processes.
You don’t mind being on their feet and can relatively lift 50lbs and climb a ladder carrying boxes and bags.
The Ideal Candidate (What You Need to Succeed):
2+ years of store management experience leading a team of 10+ direct reports, ideally in a retail environment.
You are a people-first leader. You know how to motivate a team and can be a lifeline for others!
Ability to analyze and make data driven decisions to positively impact the business.
Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office, and experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Experience creating an effective staff schedule that supports the team and business needs.
Team dynamics excite you! You have experience hiring, training, and developing a team. You understand the need for a diverse team and that each member brings a unique experience to the table.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-80,000/year and will be based on the experience that you bring to the table.
