Wolters Kluwer Sales Engineer - Technology Sales Support (Hybrid) in Boston, Massachusetts

NOTE: The Sales Engineer is an individual contributor role (no direct reports). It is also a hybrid position which requires 2 days per week in-office .

Lead the technical sales support process for the entire product portfolio (7+ SaaS software solutions) of the Clinical Surveillance and Compliance operating unit within the Wolters Kluwer Health division. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise, conceptual and practical knowledge of theories and principles, and applies general knowledge of business and industry practices within technology sales support. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Provides technical knowledge, advice and support to sales representatives, resellers, and customers during the sales process to resolve requests regarding product/service technical issues and to maximize the benefits derived from the organization's products and/or services. Serves as advisor on advanced and broad ranging projects. Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Leads others in solving complex problems using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions. Leads functional teams or projects. Exercises judgment in evaluation, selection, and adoption of both standard and complex techniques and procedures. Uses in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures and monitors trends.

Essential Duties

·Support the business with a deep understanding of technical product specifications, integrations, and security policies and procedures, applying that knowledge during new sale and renewal engagements as well as vendor and partner discussions. Specifically, by doing the following:

  • Function as primary point of contact for technology related calls with prospects, current customers, and partners/vendors by simplifying and conveying technical terms and concepts applicable to the CSC product portfolio.

  • Be the subject matter expert who speaks to technical and security aspects of Wolters Kluwer products and services during product demonstrations to a wide variety of roles within the healthcare industry, with the ability to adjust the message based on the audience.

  • Answer questions related to interfaces, integrations, security, the data center, and the product technology stack for each CSC solution.

  • Coordinate collection of relevant technical and product information from subject matter experts across CSC to support and respond to client and sales inquiries presented in technical assessments, contracts, RFPs, sales demos and conversations with customer or potential customer technology resources.

  • Work with development team and product management team to gain updated technical information and product timelines to respond to technical assessments and technical/security RFP questions accurately and precisely.

  • Work with contracts and legal teams to provide technical and implementation consultation as it relates to the contract negotiation process.

  • Function as HIPAA privacy representative as member of both business and division level committees who informs business specific policies, procedures, and serves as primary of contact for privacy initiatives.

  • In partnership with other CSC colleagues across relevant departments, develop and present acceptable alternative solutions to customer technical and security requirements when specific requirements would not be feasible in the near or long term.

  • Keep up to date with new company products, security standards, and industry trends.

Job Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience :

  • 3+ years of prior work experience as a Sales Engineer or in roles requiring the ability to communicate SaaS software technical and security concepts to diverse audiences at clients and prospects.

  • Experience with diverse EHR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and other healthcare technology platforms as well as HL7, CSV and other data integrations.

  • Proven history supporting the technical aspects of sales for complex enterprise solutions.

  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or firsthand experience in software development, interfaces, and web technologies.

  • Working knowledge and verbal fluency with SaaS software security standards including those associated with CMM, HIPAA, SOC2, FedRamp and State Ramp is preferred.

Travel:

  • Up to 10% (including team meetings and conferences)

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $117,500-$164,700
