About the role The Mold Setter is responsible for setting and removing of molds from injection molding machines, setting up raw material, any auxiliary equipment, and any needed components. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Set all molds and auxiliary equipment per mold set-up instructions and set-up procedures. Set-up all needed raw materials. Set-up work cell and bring all required materials as called out on BOM. Remove all molds at end of run per procedures. Remove all materials from work cell from previous job. Maintaining supply of Raw Materials for running orders Planning and staging molds, material, and equipment for upcoming changeovers. Cleans dryers and grinders. Maintain necessary tools and toolboxes required for job duties. Maintain water lines, jumpers, and oil lines. Cleans inside machines and around work cell when completing set-ups Reports any defective equipment or tools. Secondary Function Serve as back up machine operator Qualifications Knowledge of injection molding machines controls Knowledge of material drying and blending. Knowledge of proper Lockout / Tagout procedures. Ability to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions. Ability to perform inventory movement transactions. Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting, and measuring Ability to read drawings & blueprints. Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards. Ability to use judgment related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility. Ability to work independently. Ability to successfully train others Physical Demands Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn. Eye and foot protection may have to be worn. Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis. There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures. The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination. May stand for prolonged periods of time. This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position. Education & Experience High School education or GED required. AA Degree preferred. Minimum of 6 months experience setting and pulling molds from injection molding machines. Previous forklift experience preferred.
