About the role This position is responsible for producing products and components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and/or visual factory. Operates automated industrial production and processing machinery in a safe and efficient manner. This position works under moderate supervision. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Operates automation machinery at or above the engineering standard without compromising quality requirements Watches gauges, dials, HMI panels or other indicators to verify equipment is operating within defined parameters and operational standards without compromising quality requirements Measures product or component dimensions Interacts with engineering and production support staff regarding equipment or process issues Qualifications Ability to access, read, and apply information from all pertinent shop floor paperwork Ability to set-up, start-up, operate, shutdown, and reset assigned machines in an efficient and timely manner Ability to conduct all associated quality checks and differentiate between conforming and non-conforming material Productivity levels are within established standards Ability to communicate and interact with support personnel from engineering and/or quality to resolve issues related to products, production equipment and/or assembly processes Consistently works in a safe manner Ability to identify opportunities for improvement Physical Demands This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% machine operations, some production assembly, and/or walking and assisting production employee Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn Eye and foot protection may have to be work Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time Education & Experience High School education or GED preferred Minimum one year experience working in a production environment Previous automated manufacturing machinery experience preferred Previous experience inspecting for quality preferred What We Offer To meet the health and wellness needs of our employees, Leviton offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
