Antech Diagnostics Accounting Director in Boulder, Colorado

Job Purpose/Overview

The Director of Accounting is responsible for accounting for all areas of significant judgment, including complex accounting, and compiling financial data that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. The Director of Accounting is detail-oriented, has strong knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles, general ledger, internal control operation and testing. This employee work autonomously and collaboratively with many other areas of the business as well as external and internal auditors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage reference lab and imaging service business lines accounting to ensure compliance with US GAAP and Mars Finance Policy.

  • Oversee all inventory, manufacturing and cost accounting related to reference lab business

  • Establish and Maintain policies for expense recognition and balance sheet accounting applicable to our business.

  • Ensure adherence to internal control excellence framework related to all areas of accounting and complete annual testing. Serve as lead for internal audits.

  • Serve as business owner of non-revenue related systems and provide leadership and strategic guidance to support system consolidation/upgrades

  • Address technical accounting matters associated with material or non-standard contracts and settlements and prepare/review supporting memos with recommended accounting treatment.

  • Develop and retain a high performing team that employs best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal customer satisfaction

  • Support business and finance teams in analysis of expense related transactions and variances to budget

  • Manage the monthly close process for all non-revenue related activities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required, Master’s degree preferred.

  • CPA Preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in accounting

  • Minimum of 6 years in a leadership role over receivables or accounting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP required.

  • Extensive knowledge of ERP programs preferred.

  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects

  • Ability to work tight timelines

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Travel

Occasional Percent of Time: Up to 10%

Working Conditions

The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office or virtual environment. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment or a remote home office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, video conferencing and the Internet. The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Environment where pets are present.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000 annually. At Mars, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
