Strativia Augmented Reality Development Support Specialist in Boulder, Colorado

Job Purpose: The project aims to develop realistic augmented reality environments for the Public Safety Communications Research (PSR) to test the potential impact of new user interfaces, such as heads-up displays and maps, based on tasks executed within the AR environment. This position will contribute to achieving the necessary realism for these environments, focusing on the creation of 3D user interfaces (3DUI), environments, props, and models. These AR environments will be utilized for studies on user interface and user experience (UI/UX) for public safety technologies.

Responsibilities: Assist in the experiment design for assessing technology interventions and future user interfaces for first responders with the PSCR virtual and augmented reality systems. Assist in the development of AR content to support PSCR studies. Assist in data collection from first responders to identify public safety use cases to support user experience research, including participating in and contributing to user studies, interviews, surveys, and documentation review (e.g., procedures, trainings). Document research designs and outcomes to support NIST publications regarding the applications of extended reality (XR) technologies around the public safety use case. Assist in designing experiments for the PSCR XR. Assist in the development of AR prototypes to support PSCR studies. Identify and configure system elements for data collection from first responders. Provide documentation regarding study design, execution, and outcomes to support NIST publications. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 3 years of experience in research and development Experience in study design and analysis Familiarity with programming languages for AR (e.g., Unity) Experience working collaboratively on XR research projects Strativia understands that our staff is our number one asset.
