Western Kentucky University's School of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport is seeking a non-tenure eligible, full-time faculty member to join the Exercise Science program in August 2024 at the rank of Instructor I. This is a nine-month position, with potential for teaching in off terms (summer and winter) when available. This position carries an expectation of excellence in teaching with a minimum 4/4 load, service to the Exercise Science and Kinesiology programs, and advising. Courses taught may include introductory lecture courses, laboratory sections, and upper-division undergraduate courses in accordance with the candidate's preparation and experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in kinesiology, exercise science, human performance, or a closely related field by July 31, 2024.

  • At least 3 years of industry and/or academic experience

  • Professional certification in the field of Exercise Science, such as ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), or Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT, NSCA-CPT, or NASM).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
