Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Hot Stamp Operator in our Bowling Green, Kentucky Stamping Facility. The Hot Stamp Operator is responsible for the operation of automated press lines, robots, and PLC process equipment. The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of dies, presses, and press controls, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the quality of production to ensure accuracy, improve productivity, and monitor safe working conditions as per Company policies
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues including but not limited to adjusting end effectors, adjusting nest tables, and assisting with tool and die concerns.
  • Troubleshoot robotic issues including but not limited to manually touching up pick and place robot coordinate points using teach pendant, offsetting/adjusting robot coordinate points through data files on teach pendant, offsetting/adjusting robot speed, acceleration and approximation distance variables through teach pendant.
  • Maintain automated and robotic manufacturing methods and processes
  • Program, test, and debug automated machine programs as needed
  • Successfully perform the changeover of die, attaching end of arm tooling, troubleshooting, and testing of safety circuits and lockout before startup as per data sheet specifications
  • Prepare and submit shift activity reports in both paper and electronic format to communicate statistics of faults in presses and downtime minutes
  • Troubleshooting for poor quality product
  • Manage priorities and achieve results/ quota as set forth by the company

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to install and maintain robot end of arm tooling and suction pickup cups/grippers
  • Ability to instruct and retain information
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of part quality and specifications to ensure all die protection sensors are enabled
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time/ lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to work all shifts: Midnights, Days, Afternoons


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution; Programs of study would include Robotics Technician, Electronics Engineering, Technician Industrial Automation, and Industrial Controls
  • Knowledge of robots and robot controls
