The Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a tenure-eligible faculty appointment at the rank of pedagogical assistant professor, pedagogical associate professor, or pedagogical professor. This position combines teaching and service with no expectation for research though the successful candidate is welcome to pursue research interests. There is an opportunity for this position to be remote, however, the successful candidate will have to attend meetings and campus events, as needed. We seek candidates who are qualified to teach social and behavioral competency-based courses, especially those related to health behavior theory, health inequality, foundation of public health, community organization, policy, leadership, program planning and evaluation, research methods and/or evidence-based approaches. Candidates with other public health teaching will be considered, especially those related to current disciplines in the Department of Public Health. Pedagogical faculty members are expected to bring a high level of conceptual and theoretical ideas to their instructional tasks and to have innovative skill sets that enhance the intellectual development of their colleagues and the students with whom they interact. A pedagogical track faculty member will carry a 4-4 teaching load or additional service responsibilities. There may be additional opportunities for MPH Program Coordination for the applicant.

Job Requirements:

Assistant Pedagogical Professor

  • Candidates must hold an earned PhD/DrPH, or be ABD, in a public health or a related field,

  • Candidates must hold at least one graduate degree from an accredited school of program of public health

  • Candidates must demonstrate competence in classroom and online instruction

Associate Pedagogical Professor

  • Candidates must hold an earned PhD/DrPH in a public health or related field

  • Candidates must hold at least one graduate degree from an accredited school or program of public health

  • Candidate must have at least 5 years teaching experience

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or hold a current rank of Associate Professor at their current or former institution

  • Candidates must meet departmental, college and university requirements for associate professor

Pedagogical Professor

  • Candidates must hold an earned PhD/DrPH in a public health or related field

  • Candidates must hold at least one graduate degree from an accredited school of program of public health

  • Candidates must demonstrate competence in classroom and online instruction

  • Candidate must have a minimum of five years at the rank of Associate Professor or hold a current rank of Full Professor at their current or former institution

  • Candidates must meet departmental, college and university requirements for full professor
