Robert Half General Accountant in Bowling Green, Ohio

Description We are in search of a proficient General Accountant to be part of our team in the automotive industry, located in BOWLING GREEN, Ohio, 43402-9164, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining and managing financial systems, delivering general and cost accounting services, and ensuring the accuracy of customer credit records.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and maintaining financial systems including accounts payable, accounts receivable, product costing, and general ledger

• Developing and maintaining standard cost of product, including allocation of overhead costs

• Ensuring proper cost accounting information is received and recorded accurately

• Assisting with month-end financial statement closing procedures

• Updating and maintaining fixed asset system for accurate tracking

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and general ledger inventory accounts

• Assisting with cycle count program including auditing of cycle count and reporting variations

• Handling confidential information on a regular basis and maintaining discretion

• Encouraging safety and housekeeping practices within the workplace

• Promoting and facilitating open-door process and effective communication

• Adhering to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies

• Utilizing Microsoft Office programs to complete correspondence, forms, and reports

• Participating in continual improvement activities within the accounting department Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

• Demonstrated experience in account reconciliation, general ledger, and journal entries

• Experience in performing month-end close processes

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and reliability

• CPA certification is considered a plus.
