Salvation Army Social Services Coordinator in Brainerd, Minnesota

Position Summary The Salvation Army Northern Division (Brainerd Lakes Corps Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. The Coordinator also recruits and provides a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty. Full time, $17.00 - $18.00/hour 208 South 5th Street, Brainerd, MN 56401 Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants (40%). Provide participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers) (15%). Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry (15%). Facilitate individual and group educational activities (10%). Assist with seasonal and special events (5%). Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community (5%). Engage in internal activities to promote and further POH goals and objectives (5%). Assist with the grant lifecycle (e.g., application, monitoring, reporting) (5%). Education and Experience Associate's degree in relevant field preferred. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered. If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board. Previous social services experience required. Must pass background checks. Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.
