Job Description

BlueTriton Brands has an opening for an Engineering Automation and Controls Specialist . This position has technical responsibility for automation layer devices as outlined below. The Engineering Automation and Controls Resource reports directly to Electrical and Automation Design Manager.

Responsibilities / Experience Requirements

• The Engineering Automation and Controls Resource will be responsible for making corrections/improvements to the controls design and implementation that were missed during the original commissioning of the equipment, or outdated design.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose root cause of electronic or mechanical malfunctions using knowledge, manuals, SOPs, specifications, and other workplace aids.

• PLC Control programmer will program and modify new and existing PLC programs.

• Troubleshoot and repair/replace field devices such as PLC hardware, servo controllers, communication & network devices, analog transmitters, all I/O components, VFDs, and OEM controllers.

• Assist with design solutions for field issues.

• Primary focus of the role will be in Water Processing, Utilities, SCADA, Network, and Facility support.

• Provide support to the factories as needed to troubleshoot and maintain SCADA, Historian, Kepware, Bizware, EIT, WIN911, ThinManager, and other data collection, automation, and communication applications.

• Provide directional support and oversight in regards to controls obsolescence upgrade projects.

• Act as liaison to corporate engineering, IS/IT, and Factory Automation Systems Administrators .

• Create and ensure compliance with BlueTriton standards & methodologies for Factory Automation Systems.

• Resolve and repair all system faults and anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems, including changes, adjustments, and modifications to control code and standard operating parameters.

• Obtain drawings, instructional manuals, and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Make additional sketches, diagrams, etc.

• Working Knowledge of Ethernet/Device Net/DH+/ControlNet/Remote I/O Systems

• Communicate, coach and train employees to continuously improve the team's ability to respond to equipment failures and loss of production.

• Provide Electrical, Controls, Automation, and Process support to factories within the BTB network. Working directly with the local teams to help drive production, QA, and Safety troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements.

• Assist the factories and BTB teams with the proper escalation process.

Qualifications

Education / Communication Requirements

• Requires strong Technical, Managerial, and Leadership ability with exceptional facilitation and communication skills.

• Five or more years proven controls experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Highly motivated, well organized, goal oriented and capable of operating alone, with minimal direct supervision.

• This position requires excellent communication, and problem solving skills.

• Flexible and ability to work in an ambiguous and changing environment.

• Must be a team player and have strong abilities to lead and participate in project teams and be able to demonstrate capability in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficient with Allen Bradley PLC/PAC code, programming and Communication protocols.

• Working knowledge of Siemens and B&R PLC/PAC code and Communication protocols.

• Proficient with SCADA systems in an industrial manufacturing environment, specifically with GE Proficy iFIX, Schneider Electric Wonderware Intouch/System platform, Rockwell Visual Studio Site Edition and Rockwell ThinManager programming (GE Fanuc / Intellution and/or Wonderware).

• Working knowledge of industrial networks.
