Skookum is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our team. The Accounts Payable Manager leads the AP department, overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of AP processes to ensure both efficiency and accuracy. This role is responsible for managing and developing a team of AP professionals, ensuring that all disbursement activities adhere to organizational standards and regulatory requirements. The AP Manager collaborates closely with internal teams to align AP processes with departmental and organizational objectives, driving overall success and operational excellence. Typical duties of a Accounts Payable Manager include but are not limited to: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Accounts Payable (AP) processes. Drive process efficiency while ensuring accurate data management and strict adherence to internal controls. Collaborate with team members to set annual goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities. Monitor performance, offering guidance and mentorship to support ongoing professional growth. Address personnel issues, including conflicts, absenteeism, and performance concerns. Recruit, train, and cultivate a high-performing team of AP professionals, fostering a culture of excellence. Provide continuous support, training, and mentoring to empower team members to achieve their full potential. Build and nurture collaborative relationships across departments to achieve organizational goals. Implement effective communication strategies to strengthen individual and team relationships. Actively support the company's community support initiatives by ensuring timely processing and payment of contributions, donations, and related expenses. Collaborate with internal teams to track and report on the financial aspects of community support projects. Conduct the year-end 1099 reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate completion in compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensure timely filing of sales tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations. Stay updated on changes in sales tax laws and ensure the AP department's processes are adjusted accordingly.
