U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (MATERIALS & PROCESSES) in Bremerton, Washington

Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (MATERIALS AND PEROCESSES) in the Nondestructive Testing Division, Quality Assurance Office, of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will analyze and assess materials with known, potential, or suspected fatigue characteristics. You will perform quality assurance reviews, evaluate and inspect work performed, and annotate deficiencies. You will provide input for resolution of quality assurance problems. You will utilize knowledge of theory and practical experience to provide input for the development of procedures for non-destructive testing. You will utilize quality assurance testing techniques and procedures to determine part conformity to specified standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying quality assurance methods and techniques to perform audits or surveillances on materials and processes; analyzing quality data to identify deficiencies or adverse trends; and recommending corrective actions to ensure ship maintenance and repair projects meet quality requirements. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; or Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; or Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major/; or A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
