Kitsap County Solid Waste Program Analyst in Bremerton, Washington

[Position Summary]{.underline} This position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and oversight of municipal programs for solid and hazardous waste reduction, recycling, composting, and related programs and projects within Kitsap County. An employee in this class is responsible for the coordination and promotion of County programs with cities, neighboring counties, state agencies, private haulers, recyclers, manufacturers, waste generators, and the public.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

[REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:]{.underline}

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, marketing, environmental studies or sciences, or other related discipline, and
  • Three years of experience in integrated environmental management programs (solid waste, recycling, waste, storm water, sewer, natural resources, growth management), or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.

[PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE]{.underline}

  • Prior experience in any of the following: communications promoting education and outreach, conducting media campaigns, public relations, market research, community outreach, adult education, technical communications for non-technical audiences, behavior organizational change, event planning, working with contractors, contract management, budget management, writing and managing grants.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,415.90 - $99,495.84. This position offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a pension retirement, and other voluntary benefits.
