Job Summary and Qualifications

The Consulting Product Analyst is focused on ITG EHR Systems for HCA Physician Services Group. The role includes creating product roadmaps and conducting testing to support organizational needs. The Consulting Product Analyst works closely with EHR vendors to drive the achievement of defined solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations and collaborates with internal HCA sources to ensure alignment. Additionally, the role requires utilizing SQL to write and execute queries, analyze data, and provide insights for optimization of EHR systems. This position involves identifying new practices from other healthcare organizations to ensure solutions grow and adapt to unknown or unplanned needs. The Analyst works closely with the Senior Product Analyst to deliver integrated solutions that support improved content, workflow analysis, optimization planning, and live support for clinical users of the EHR.

Supervisor: Manager, E.H.R. Service and Delivery

General Role and Responsibilities

  • Writes and executes advanced SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting for EHR systems

  • Develops a working knowledge of the EHR database schema and maintains the internal organizational knowledgebase

  • Creatively develops components that best support EHR solutions based on organizational needs

  • Effective communicator and presenter, proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and data-driven insights

  • Applies project management skills to drive performance and achieve clear, comprehensive results

  • Collaborates with vendors to understand offerings and identify options that produce meaningful outcomes

  • Participates in national user conferences to gain advanced knowledge of systems and customer utilization

  • Assists leads in developing clear and actionable product roadmaps for stakeholders

  • Achieves product goals that can be supported by HCA Physician Services, ITG, CPSP, and Parallon

  • Supports implementations and go-live activities, including training and ongoing support for clinical users

  • Conducts regular on-site visits to practices to identify needs and review newly implemented solutions

  • Leads user groups/forums to share new product options and gather feedback

  • Analyzes complex issues and translates them into understandable solutions for stakeholders

  • Works with enterprise subject matter experts and support teams to resolve EMR application issues and requests

  • Participates in root cause analysis as issue trends are identified

  • Collaborates with the EHR Specialist team to provide support for software functionality, content updates, and defect resolution

  • Assists in the evaluation of vendor functionality prior to release and supports testing of clinical integration points

Operational Standards and Support

  • Designs and develops reports with the ITG Development team, utilizing SQL to create data-driven solutions that improve EHR delivery

  • Evaluates product workflows to ensure usability and practice value before and after new product introductions

  • Actively supports and promotes systems standardization, utilization, and best practices

  • Troubleshoots basic wireless/network/computer issues, working with support teams for resolution

  • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines

  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission & Value Statement

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • College degree

  • 8+ years of experience with EHR/EMR technology or Physician Practice Workflow

  • Experience writing and executing advanced SQL queries for data analysis and reporting

  • Understanding of healthcare clinical processes and workflow

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA

  • Strong relationship-building skills across a broad range of personality types

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with clinical and IT personnel

  • Demonstrated customer service focus

  • Strong leadership and teaching abilities

  • Advanced computer skills, including basic troubleshooting of wireless/network/computer issues

Preferred:

  • Experience with product development focused on advanced system growth

  • Healthcare IT experience, including Hospital and/or Practice Systems

  • Vendor negotiation and relationship management experience
