What you’ll do:

As an ITS Director, Cerner , you will provide leadership and oversight for the functional development, implementation and optimization of the Oracle / Cerner applications utilized across the Lifepoint Health organization. The Director, Cerner applications is action oriented, and results focused. They play a critical role in achieving the organization's strategic goals and supporting critical initiatives; they provide direction, focus, and oversight across multiple Cerner application teams through coaching, inclusion, and clearly communicated responsibilities.

The Director, Cerner applications has subject matter expertise and leadership experience, which allows them to function as a mentor for their team members and peers; knowledge expert in workflows, best practices, and regulatory requirements (Nursing, Provider, Lab, Rehab, Behavioral Health, as examples); and acts as a liaison amongst their teams, our acute and post-acute facilities and HSC IT and Operational leadership. They ensure consistent and quality delivery in execution through service excellence, which is a primary goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison across their teams, others in the HSC IT Department, facility and HSC operational leadership to ensure operational and regulatory needs are clearly articulated and understood.
  • Strategic leader with the background to guide and imbed technology into the clinician workflow, which improves productivity, decision making, training, and patient outcomes.
  • Partners and collaborates with HSC operational Leadership to identify and solution process improvements within their Cerner assigned applications (CPOE, documentation, Nursing documentation, Scheduling, Registration, Core, not inclusive).
  • Assume a leadership role in their Cerner assigned solutions technical component. Lead business systems analysts and consultants in the design, build and optimization of their assigned solutions.
  • Directs the day-to-day activities of the team supporting/impending their assigned applications. Drive the team forward to meet organizational implementation timelines for new starts and facility system conversions.
  • Supports the execution of the repeatable model(s) of deployment / conversions for all the different types, ex Joint Venture (JV), Post-Acute, Acute, etc.
  • Oversees change management and improvement related to their assigned Cener systems.
  • Guides the development and deployment of materials and process design associated with area of responsibility, including training programs, sample ideal process flows, templates, governance models, etc.
  • Gather, lead, and support a team focusing on skills and knowledge of the technology, and adoption aspects of Cerner technology.
  • Serve as a change agent to help lead complex interconnected organizational technology initiatives.
  • Support the quality initiatives throughout the organization and recommend system solutions or aids to enhance the technology solutions for improved patient outcomes.
  • Work directly with Cerner Oracle team in the design, prioritization, and adoption of on-going improvements to Cerner solutions.
  • Collaborates with all levels of the organization and within the facilities to provide guidance in the adoption of healthcare documentation systems and other application technologies with the goal to achieve positive patient outcomes within Lifepoint Health.

What you’ll need:

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Laboratory, Radiology, Nursing, or other healthcare background preferred.

EXPERIENCE:Minimum 10 years of leadership experience; including 3 years in healthcare setting and at least -7 years’ experience with application systems or technology implementations. Progressive leadership experience managing resources and teams.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:Cerner, preferred.
