Job Title: Medical Technologist Supervisor

Job Description

As a Medical Technologist Supervisor, you will perform 80% bench work and 20% administrative tasks. Your responsibilities include assisting with laboratory testing, supervising MLT's, reviewing and signing quality control records, implementing remedial actions as needed, troubleshooting instrumentation, evaluating workflow for performance improvements, monitoring inventory, performing testing on analyzers, developing staff, and reviewing, interpreting, and evaluating test results and reports.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Brewster, New York.

Work Environment

The role operates Monday to Friday with one Saturday a month required. No overnight shifts, Sundays, or holidays. Initial training during the day shift for 1-4 months depending on the development speed on test procedures. You will supervise 5 full-time MLT's, 3 full-time assistants, and a few part-time staff. The position requires a full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Frequent standing and walking for extended periods are required, along with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Requires visual acuity and normal color perception. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment is typical.
