Hussmann Corporation Field Quality Controls Specialist in Bridgeton, Missouri

Overview

As Field Quality Controls Specialist, you will represent all divisions of Hussmann manufacturing to customers within your assigned region while collaborating with multi-regional and cross functional teams and third part contractors, to achieve desired results within budget and to specified quality and customer requirements, and within the project schedule. You will also support the development of organizational and departmental processes to improve product release and delivery execution speed and effectiveness, including analyzing and supporting the implementation NTD, NPD, and COD requests as required

Responsibilities

  • Support the controls “release to customer” field strategy for all Hussmann products by serving as liaison between the engineering, manufacturing, sales, product management, warranty customers, contractors, and Field Quality Project Lead and Technical Support teams. Key Job functions include:

  • Utilize knowledge of refrigeration controls applications to mitigate customer risk during installation and start up

  • Provide proactive support for key customer onboarding and special projects and new product and controls releases

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to meet project objectives, drive root cause, and mitigate customer risk

  • Advise in the customer support process related to the delivery and startup of sustaining and new products

  • Participate in meeting cadences with cross functional teams to ensure robust support plans for field escapes, issues, large customer start up projects, and new products and controls start ups

  • Support controls projects within budgetary guidelines

  • Effectively manage individual utilization – including maintaining itinerary plans and proactively communicating to manager and leads when schedule permits special project work

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to meet project objectives, drive root cause, and mitigate customer risk

  • Champion projects to completion

  • Support process improvement activities

  • Oversee complex order and new product builds

  • Drive cross-functional accountability related to Field Quality to mitigate customer risk.

  • Document onsite findings utilizing the field report creation process

  • Utilize the Field Escalation process when applicable

  • Perform Senior Field Quality Project Manager duties

  • Conducting plant and customer site audits to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of product and processes.

  • Interact directly with customers, contractors, technicians and engineering providing advanced level technical expertise in order to instill confidence in Hussmann equipment, installation, technical support, and service and will also have the experience to provide startup support on refrigeration systems and merchandisers as needed.

  • This position is customer facing; therefore, professionalism is of the utmost importance as the FQS is viewed as Hussmann’s “technical expert”.

  • Capable of influencing warranty expenditures by identifying and resolving issues prior to equipment start-up

  • Support peers and technicians in Controls startup and functionality

  • Facilitate/Coordinate Training as required

  • Provide Peer to Peer Training

  • Create Training Material as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and Technical Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • A minimum of 7 years Refrigeration/HVAC or related industry experience

  • Must have advanced industry product knowledge; hands on understanding of complex refrigeration systems; and advanced knowledge of electrical controls and equipment

  • Minimum 7 years Field Project Management experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Experience facilitating meetings with cross functional teams preferred

  • Experience managing complex customer start ups

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Manufacturing new product launch/build experience a plus

  • Mobility within work facilities including manufacturing and installation sites

  • Knowledgeable and/or trainable in Hussmann systems (Aftermarket, Tavant, CRM Dynamics, QMS, and Team Center)

  • Up to 70% independent travel to manufacturing and customer sites

The salary range of $74,035-142,375 is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

This is a remote position with location in the Western US, preferably near a national airport, but would consider other locations for the right fit/candidate.
