Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Principal Electrical Engineer for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position is responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget. The role will design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. The ideal candidate must have the ability to complete a technical project independently and mentor other engineers. This role is expected to average 20 hours per week for up to 12 months.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems

• Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction develops designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services

• Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements

• Develop prototypes to retire key development risks

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required

• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

• Involved with the design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of military hardware and/or systems

• Mento and coach other engineers

• Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience

• Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge

• Must have knowledge on the development and support of NAVY CASS High Power Test Program Sets

• Must have experience on maintaining and supporting the NAVY CASS High Power Test System

• Must have knowledge on developing Automatic Test Systems for the military

• Must have knowledge on and experience with engineering drawing applications Experience with VISIO a plus

• Must have knowledge using military grade components for cable design (military grade connectors, shielding, environmental seals, backshells etc.)

• Must have experience interfacing hardware components into a complete spec compliant system

• Must have experience designing and maintaining system Interface Control Documents (ICD)

• Must have military electrical systems experience, mechanical aptitude is a plus

• Must be able to determine the hardware compatibility of a system

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
