Express Employment Professionals Maintenance Technician – 2nd & Weekend Shifts in Brighton, Michigan

Express Employment Professionals - Skilled Trade Division is hiring Maintenance Technicians for 2nd shift and Weekend positions with a company in New Hudson, MI. This position combines mechanical and electrical maintenance duties.

Schedule Options:

  • Mon-Fri 4:15pm-12:45am
  • Weekend shift: Fri-Sun 6am-6pm

Pay Rate: $22-28/hour + $1/hr shift premium

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician supports mechanical and electrical maintenance operations, equipment repair, and quality assurance within the facility. This role requires a focus on safety, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and adherence to international quality and environmental standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, including CNC machining equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Replace sensors, worn gears, and motors.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Operate forklifts, man-lifts, and shop equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures and reduction of stored energy.
  • Utilize proactive maintenance systems to log and track repairs.
  • Maintain calibration records and operate basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Proficiency with pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V).
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical standards, specifications, and schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work in elevated spaces.
  • Work involves standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
