Petroleum Service Technician

Job Overview:

The primary function of the Petroleum Service Technician is to service existing fuel dispensers, POS systems and underground submersible systems. This is a full-time position reporting to the Petroleum Compliance and Service Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and repair petroleum dispensing systems.

  • Provide technical support in the field.

  • Communicate with customers and provide good customer service.

  • Perform repairs and software upgrades on existing POS systems.

  • Perform service calls on an after-hours basis.

  • Understand and comply with all State and Federal regulations.

  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

  • Read and interpret safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents.

  • Work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Available to be on-call 24/7 if applicable.

  • Able to lift 80 pounds of necessary equipment; able to push and pull 75 pounds. Able to climb a ladder.

  • Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, be courteous and always be friendly to customers and co-workers.

  • Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous meetings.

  • Follow company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines as well as Employee Handbook policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications / Experience / Education:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience with petroleum storage, service, and distribution systems.

  • Communicate well through emails, over the phone, or face-to-face.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail including follow up and follow through.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Pass 7-year criminal background check.
