Actalent Phlebotomist in Bristol, Tennessee

Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob Description

The Float Phlebotomist will: - Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate work areas. - Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. - Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) as required. - Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. - Fully understand all physicians' orders. - Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. - Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. - Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. - Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures. - Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Bristol, Tennessee.

Work Environment

Phlebotomy float position in SW Virginia and East Tennessee, including but not limited to Johnson City, Bristol, Kingsport, Richlands, Rural Retreat, and Haysi. Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm. 3-month contract with a likely extension or conversion. The work environment is primarily in a doctor's office, with a large location and the requirement to stand for most of the shift. Specialties include pediatrics. The first week of training is required.
