All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1. Workers are needed to plant, maintain and harvest diversified ground crops. Workers must have the knowledge of soil tillage and the ability to apply fertilizers and pesticides, operate and repair farm machinery. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer\'s fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver\'s license. Workers will perform other activities related to production of crops. Workers will work in the greenhouse planting and transplanting seedlings, as well as planting and transplanting crops in the field. Workers will perform field work of weeding, thinning, hoeing and other duties related to the planting, maintain and harvesting of crops. Workers may work in a storage building washing, culling, and preparing produce for storage, distribution or sale at the farm stand. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather ranging from extremely cold in the spring, winter, and fall, To hot humid summer days. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers must be available to work Saturdays. Workers will use hand and power tools including but not limited to shovels, hoes, pruners and irrigation pumps. Employer will furnish all tools and equipment required at no cost to workers. Worker may require to work 8 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Monday, and worker may require to work 8 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Wednesday through Saturday. Workers get a 30-minute Lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. The workers will return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The beginning and ending times will vary depending on the crop conditions. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.
