Brockton Hospital Mammographer in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the lead interpreting physician and support from the Director Radiology Operations, performs mammographic examinations in accordance with established policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations. Experience with breast interventional procedures a plus. Generally establishes own work plan and priorities, using and/or modifying standard procedures, to assure timely completion of assigned work in conformance with department policies and practices; problems lacking clear precedent are reviewed with the appropriate leadership.

With support of the technical coordinator of mammography assists with equipment QA standards. Assists with MQSA, ACR and other regulatory compliance expectations.

Location: Rotates and responsible for all mammography facilities within Signature Healthcare.

This is a PART-TIME Daytime/1st shift (M-F 8 or 12 hr shifts) Minor holiday coverage and limited weekends.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to assign and delegate duties in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies and vendors.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an AMA School of Radiologic Technology required

Experience: 3-5 years’ mammography experience preferred.

Certificate/Licensure: Current Massachusetts license to practice as a radiological technologist required. Current A.R.R.T. certification required. Advanced certification in mammography required. ARRT (RT), (M)

Software/Hardware: Demonstrated PACS, 3-D tomosynthesis and compute knowledge required.

Other: GE equipment experience a plus.
