Robert Half Assistant Controller in Bronx, New York

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a growing non-profit healthcare company committed in providing excellent care and services. We are dedicated to improving the health outcomes of the Bronx community and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Assistant Controller. The successful candidate will actively participate in developing and maintaining overall financial plans and strategic initiatives, as well as handling the detailed, day-to-day financial management tasks of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and financial analysis, maintaining financial records, and managing cash flow.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ensuring these reports are issued timely and accurately.

  • Collaborate with the Controller in developing and executing financial procedures.

  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and implementing budget control mechanisms.

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end audit and liaise with auditors.

  • Review, research, and ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Participate in the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process.

  • Support, analyze, and assist in the preparation of various reports.

  • Assist in payroll processing as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the nonprofit or healthcare sector.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and budget management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Solid problem-solving, decision making and analytical capabilities.

  • Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple projects.
