Bronx EOC Adjunct Lecturer – Home Health Aide/ Certified Nurse Aide

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Bronx EOC is looking for an adjunct lecturer to teach home health aides and certified nurse aides to prepare adult learners for a career in allied health. The adjunct lecturer must report attendance and evaluate student progress, communicate with the program counselor/case manager, and utilize technology in the classroom to deliver lessons.

The Bronx Educational Opportunity Centers (Bronx EOC) provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support services to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. Funded by a legislative appropriation to the State University of New York, The Bronx Educational Opportunity is hosted by Bronx Community College. The Adjunct lecturer will perform teaching and related faculty functions in the area(s) of expertise as noted below:

  • Teach Home Health Aide course and Certified Nurse Assistant Courses.

  • Certify students on the HHA directory and sign certifications, support clinical rotations, Prepare and deliver student lectures.

  • Work with the student support care team to advise on student conduct and academic progress.

  • Participate in student advisement, curriculum development, and related activities to advance the educational aims of the Bronx EOC.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An associate degree in nursing with 4 years of teaching expertise and other qualifications noted below is necessary for satisfactory performance. The ability to teach successfully is also required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, as well as at least 2 years of experience teaching and working with adult students, including experience with instructional technology and distance learning. Experience assigning and facilitating work using computer-assisted instructional software will be a plus. Bilingual is a plus.

COMPENSATION

$91.67 hourly
