CULINARY OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. is seeking a Culinary Outreach Coordinator to recruit students into HFH’s culinary courses. This position is central to our objective, which is to bring awareness to the benefits of culinary education, and specifically to enhance knowledge of HFH as a center for culinary education.

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Director of Culinary Education, the Culinary Outreach Coordinator principle responsibilities include:

  • Outreach to individuals and organizations in order to bolster student recruitment in HFH Culinary programs.

  • Tracking and analyzing recruitment activities (e.g., outreach campaigns) to determine successful methodologies.

  • Managing inflow of prospective students into HFH Culinary programs, from application to enrollment, including management of waivers and compliance documents.

  • Using screening criteria to determine the viability of prospective students.

  • Ensuring application materials are complete, accurate and submitted on time.

  • Assisting in job placement efforts for HFH Culinary program graduates

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual: English and Spanish speaking.

  • Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree preferred.

  • Comfort and experience engaging an audience.

  • Comfort with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • General understanding of the food industry.
