Overview
The Manager will be responsible to coordinate with Gas Operations Supervisors, Planners, Managers and Training Coordinators to conduct non-classroom training for Con Edison employees. Provide feedback to The Learning Center (TLC), non-classroom training Authors, and the Gas Training group regarding training content and collaborate to ensure that training materials meets present and changing requirements. Work closely with Gas System Reliability and Integrity section (SRI) for any DOJTs associated with specification revisions to ensure that the correct audience has been identified and the facilitators guides are properly filled out. Conduct audits for Con Edison and Contractors facilitators to ensure consistency on the delivery of the change and follow proper Management of Change for any new requirements that need to be added or eliminated from training titles. The Manager is responsible to direct the Training Coordinators that schedule employees for required training in ALL Gas Ops Areas (initial training as well as hands-on refresher training). The Manager is responsible to direct the employment and development group that tracks all career paths for Gas Ops employees and works closely with TLC, Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment group for any Training related updates.Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities- Prepare presentations for Executive Status Reports on a quarterly basis.
- Analyze training trends and make recommendations for process and training improvements to promote operational excellence.
- Lead all training scheduling communication efforts, including training updates, eLearnings, micro videos, etc.
- Maintain documentation and develop meaningful reporting metrics for training review on a monthly basis.
- Lead all new and ongoing training scheduling projects such as Training Attendance & Acknowledgment Record (TARR).
- Act as point-of-contact(POC) for all technical details within Area Gas and provide comments and feedback on Gas Specifications and DOJT training, as they pertain to Area Gas and all Technical groups.
- Assists the Section Manager with the coordination, preparation and reporting of significant activities related to training.
- Coordinate with all Gas Ops groups to enhance training scheduling and establish structured training timeframes.
- Partner with and initiate benchmarking activities with other organizations and outside utilities pertaining to training.
- Ensure training compliance for all Con Edison personnel through reports and analysis.
- Attend and provide input and feedback to the Training Effectiveness Committee for any new training requirements in Gas Operations.
- Create and sustain a workplace that fosters inclusion, leadership, professionalism, safety, operational excellence, integrity and courtesy.
- Maintain a questioning attitude and effectively collaborate with external groups and organizations (TLC) as needed to continuously improve OQ testing and training.
- Conduct audits on Con Edison facilitators and provide feedback to ensure adherence to Facilitator Guides.
- Evaluate effectiveness of non-classroom training sessions annually by conducting workshops to receive feedback from customers (Area Gas union personnel/supervisors).
- Participate in all training related committees (internal and external).
- Participate in Training Change management process meetings, prepare MOC documentation/forms etc.
- Be the lead of the DOJT Voice Over Project and work closely with the vendor for the completion of the project.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years full time related experience or
- Associate's Degree and 5 years full time related experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years full time related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years full time related experience.
- 2 years demonstrated experience scheduling, planning and coordinating meetings, events, and other team functions. Required
- 2 years supervisory experience. Required
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards. Required
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Required
- Experience with various electronic systems used in Gas Operations such as ITs, Oracle, and e-train. Required
- Knowledge of and experience with operator qualification requirements. Required
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and database management system. Required
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Required
- Must possess informal leadership and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Required
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently interact with all levels of employees. Required
- Experience in Tableau strongly preferred. Preferred
- Operator qualified in either GDS or construction. Preferred
- Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
- Ability to lead/manage others
- Excellent collaboration and team building skills
- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
