Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Secretary in the Bronx. This role requires clerical and keyboard support work of moderate difficulty in the healthcare industry. You will be expected to transcribe dictation and perform a variety of tasks requiring independent work decisions within established policies.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process medical documents and transcribe dictation

• Make independent decisions in line with established policies

• Maintain patient records accurately using EHR systems like Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epic Software

• Handle inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel

• Manage office management tasks and maintain timely medical authorizations

• Assist in billing functions and manage charts and graphs

• Provide general office support and maintain a high level of organization.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using medical software

• Strong communication skills, particularly in answering inbound calls

• Ability to direct queries to appropriate personnel in a timely and efficient manner

• Familiarity with the process of obtaining authorizations for various medical procedures

• Experience in handling billing functions in a medical setting

• Proven ability to create and interpret charts and graphs in a medical context

• Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail

• Ability to manage patient records confidentially and professionally

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies.
