Fedcap Orientation Facilitator in Bronx, New York

Position Summary:

The Orientation Facilitator is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and orienting new and re-referred participants to the program. They are responsible for providing an engaging and informative orientation that will provide concrete information about specific employment sectors will connecting participants with the program and its services. The candidate should have a background in education and facilitation, demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of at least one sector cluster (maintenance/security, food service/customer service, healthcare/social assistance, technology, construction, industrial/manufacturing, and/or transportation/warehousing) and a willingness and desire to work with at-risk and vulnerable populations. They will reflect the Fedcap values of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Provide a sector-based orientation and intake services to new participants daily, ensuring proper accommodations and flexibility for all participants

  • Manage a classroom of participants while being courteous and approachable

  • Follow approved policies and procedures regarding the daily instructional orientation session to recipients of public assistance

  • Document classroom activity in internal and external systems.

  • Maintain a clear pipeline between orientation and the participants' Career Coach.

  • Provide information to all participants regarding Fedcap services, including employment services, vocational trainings, and educational services.

  • Accurately provide eligible participants with metro cards

    Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • At least 1 year of experience in workshop or classroom facilitation

  • Demonstrated experience in or knowledge of at least one employment sector cluster: maintenance/security, food service/customer service, healthcare/social assistance, technology, construction, industrial/manufacturing, and/or transportation/warehousing

  • Experience working with populations on public assistance, criminal backgrounds, and the economically disadvantaged
