Currently, AB Electronics is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. Position Description:
The QC Inspector will perform various inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process utilizing customer documents, industry standards, and procedures. This includes inspection of components, fabricated parts, and assemblies at receiving, in process and final inspection. This role requires that an inspector be able to perform visual inspections of electronic soldering and circuit board assembly workmanship utilizing customer documentation, industry standards, and internal procedures.
Ensure quality practices and procedures are implemented and followed.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and quality standards.
Maintains inspection records and understands all aspects of electronic assembly of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assemblies, Cable Assemblies, and Box build assemblies.
Works with production technicians and assemblers to ensure procedures are understood and followed.
Participates in Root Cause and Corrective Action quality initiatives.
Uses quality audits to validate processes to ensure quality standards.
Provides process yields to reduce cycle time.
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) and cable assemblies.
Technically current and capable of using ERP, internal online documentation, bill of material, and work instructions as applicable to job function.
Intermediate computer literacy with competencies in word-processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and database management.
Working knowledge of electronic components
Understands process documentation such as travelers, routing sheets, component data sheets, and detailed work instructions.
Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality systems
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2+ years of related work experience.
Experience using documented work instructions.
Working experience in the manufacturing of electronic circuit board assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current or previous certification to IPC-A-610 industry standards (certification a plus)
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
Strong understanding of IPC-A-610 / 620
Able to work comfortably in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
Promotes continuous improvement.
Effectively utilizes data.
