Assistant to the Chair, Fashion Department (71150)Location: Brooklyn, NYDescription:The Fashion Department at Pratt Institute is seeking a tech-savvy, detailed-oriented Assistant to the Chair who will supervise the daily fashion office operations and assist the chairperson with administrative duties. The Assistant will proactively identify and address the daily needs of the office to ensure smooth and responsive operation, will handle the departmental activities such as managing budget, events, and communication outreach.The ideal candidate will be an organized, effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is a flexible team player. If you are ready to join a dynamic team and share Pratt's creative spirit, and work in a fast-paced, collaborative culture, then this is the opportunity you're looking for!On a typical day you will be required to:Support the administrative needs of the Chair to ensure smooth running of daily operations including maintaining calendar; scheduling staff and faculty meetings as needed; coordinating departmental communication via email and social media channel.In coordination with the Director of Finance; reconciling expenses, managing operations budget, tracking expenses, and processing payments. Coordinate with the Chair and Assistant Chair on all departmental and Institute wide events.Assist with coordinated special events such as annual fashion show and lecture series.Hire and oversee student employees in the office and studios.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education:B.A. or equivalent required.
