Altronix Corp. Material Handler/Baler Operator in Brooklyn, New York

A leading designer and manufacturer of low voltage electronics and power supplies.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: - Pick up and handle cardboard boxes, trash and other production paper by-products into dumpsters. - Transport materials within dumpsters into appropriate areas. - Operate the baler machine that compresses and binds paper by-products. Operating the machine requires knowledge of standard machine set up, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment. - Remove bale from baling machine and places it in designated areas to prepare for recycling/disposal. - Assist in keeping the work areas free from debris by sweeping and performing other miscellaneous cleaning duties in the work areas as needed. - Occasionally stock ready products on pallets. - Other job related duties as deemed necessary by management.

Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to: - Reach: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. - Stand: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. - Stoop: Bending body downward and forward. - Walk: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, moving from one work area to another. - Push: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. - Pull: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. - Lift: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. May require lifting objects of up to a maximum of 42 pounds.

Status: Full-time/regular (40 hours per week) Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:30am-5:00pm) Rate of Pay: In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the hourly rate for this position is $16.00 per hour; which may be increased upon successful completion of the 90th day introductory period. Annual performance-based increases are also available.
