Overview

Responsible for supporting an operating area that includes the Field Operating Supervisors and field crews and resolving difficult technical, personnel, safety or external customer issues. Responsible and held accountable for making field visits and inspections of jobs to ensure the Field Operating Supervisors and their crews are compliant with all corporate rules, procedures and specifications. Works closely with the Work Organizers to plan and schedule work and resources. Aids Field Operating Supervisors in driving productivity from the crews. Plans and delivers technical training OJTs to both the Field Operating Supervisors and the weekly field forces. Supports career development initiatives for the Field Operating Supervisors and the weekly field forces, as well as provides developmental and positive feedback to the Section Manager as required. Interacts and acts as a liaison with the Meter Shop to get clarification on design to build issues and meter engineering specifications and with other internal departments along with external city, state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Monitors and inspects field crews and Field Operating Supervisors on a daily basis to ensure that all work and field setups are compliant with Company GEIs, GSIs, Rules We Live By and MEP specifications.
  • Performs periodic quality assurance checks on completed field work/jobs to proactively identify quality issues and initiate remediation.
  • Assists the Field Operating Supervisors with the resolution of difficult field issues, such as technical issues and safety related issues, personnel issues and external customer issues, as well as issues with state, city and federal agencies.
  • Implements and effectively communicates high level OJTs (On-the-Job Training).
  • Provides critical feedback to the Section Manager concerning Field Operating Supervisors, including but not limited to coaching, counseling, and recommendations for process improvements as necessary.
  • Acts as a liaison between EH&S, The Meter Shop and other internal and external departments, which includes making field design visits and handling engineering procedural issues.
  • Responds to emergencies and support the mobilization of the Incident Command System, as required.
  • Provides constructive feedback to continuously improve work and resource management processes.
  • Aids Field Operating Supervisors in achieving productivity gains from the work crews.
  • Coaches and monitors Field Operating Supervisors and other company personnel in technical and leadership matters, as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least five years relevant work experience in Meter & Test or similar area or
  • High School Diploma/GED and at least ten years relevant work experience in Meter & Test or similar area.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Working knowledge of Meter Engineering specifications and procedures, required.
  • Technical proficiency in Meter & Test discipline, required.
  • Working knowledge of in-house computer software such as Intellihub, ProField Encore, MAMS, and CC&B, preferred.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, required.
  • Needs to have excellent time management, leadership and communication skills, required.
  • Strong analytical skills, required.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, required.
  • Work experience in Meter & Test, or similar, required.
  • Experience with Meter Shop, Electric Operations/Construction, and/or Work Resource Management applications, preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with Company forces, contractors, executives and engineers, required.
  • Must have supervisory experience of union and/or contractor workforce, required.
  • Must be organized and able to handle multiple job assignments with changing priorities, required.
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and various shifts
  • Medical approval for respirator fit preferred
  • Ability to walk, drive, climb and bend for prolonged durations
  • Ability to work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions

Minimum Salary: 115000.00 Maximum Salary: 150000.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
