JPMorgan Chase Portfolio & Performance Analysis Senior Associate in Brooklyn, New York

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team in a fast-paced and challenging area? This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) to partner with the Business.

As a Portfolio & Performance Analysis Senior Associate within the Global Multi-Asset Solutions and Alternatives Asset Class team, you will collaborate closely with the global PAG & Technology teams, investment teams, and stakeholders globally to deliver accurate and insightful performance measurement and attribution analysis & reporting. You will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of one of the world's leading financial institutions while gaining exposure to diverse investment strategies across asset classes. You will engage with clients to understand their specific problem statements and challenges within the alternative investment space. You will have a proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and professional development Additionally, you will serve as the regional point of contact for business stakeholders, including portfolio managers, investment specialists, and client reporting teams. Your coverage will be global, with the reporting line to a manager based in the UK.

Job responsibilities

  • Support performance measurement and attribution processes for the Global Solutions and Alternatives Asset Class, including real estate and other alternative investments

  • Manage and oversee business-as-usual (BAU) activities for monthly client & fund performance reporting, particularly for Alternative Real Estate Funds, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of performance metrics

  • Collaborate with the PAG Alternatives lead to identify opportunities for expanding the PAG offering into various alternative verticals

  • Act as a subject matter expert on solutions advisory and alternative investments, new accounts onboarding, providing guidance and support to both internal stakeholders and client reporting teams

  • Validate and reconcile investment returns to ensure data integrity and completeness for quarterly factsheet reporting

  • Monitor data quality and performance between computations from different sources (e.g., internal vs. external)

  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc performance-related inquiries from stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities to enhance performance analysis processes, workflows, and controls to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy

  • Contribute to the department's efforts to improve systems and technology by actively participating in projects, requirement gathering, and testing of software and system tools

  • Lead initiatives to leverage technology, automation, and analytics tools to streamline performance reporting and analysis activities

  • Explore and implement AI/ML techniques to improve data accuracy, predictive analytics, and performance insights

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • 5+ years of experience in performance analysis, attribution, or related areas within the financial services industry

  • Comfortable in a team environment while also able to deliver on independent assignments

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels globally

  • Knowledge of portfolio accounting principles, and performance and attribution methodologies

  • Demonstrated business acumen with a keen understanding of financial markets and investment products

  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment

  • Self-starter who is analytical and creative in their thinking; ability to quickly analyze information and creatively reach solutions and execute their implementation

  • High-level quantitative skills, comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodology, and risk measures

  • Understanding of the various businesses/products within the Asset Management space

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Exposure to the Asset Management industry

  • Proficiency with issue resolution and root cause analysis, including showing the ability to research and resolve issues in a timely manner

Work schedule

  • This hybrid role requires going into the office three days a week with two days' flexibility to work from home, subject to change
