Kelly Services Associate Scientist in Broomfield, Colorado

Senior Associate (Molecular/Cancer Research) – Broomfield, CO

Type: Contract to Hire (potential for Direct Hire)

Shift: M-F (core hours 9a-3p, flex hours)

Pay Rate: 55K -65K

We are seeking an experienced candidate to join us at the Senior Associate level. The candidate would participate contributing to the proteomic capabilities of our oncology diagnostic platform. This project is based on the application of a bottom-up proteomics methodology, allowing detection of very low abundant cancer biomarkers for therapeutic innovation and treatment follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of equipment validations and calibrations, verifications, preventive maintenance

  • Function as Testing Personnel within a CLIA licensed environment

  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.

  • Operate and maintain mass spectrometry instruments for the analysis of large molecules.

  • Run assays involving large molecule analysis as part of proteomics research. molecule analysis as part of proteomics research.

  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director.

  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.

Experience/Education

  • Master's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or

chemical, physical or biological science and 1 year training and experience in high complexity testing;

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or

chemical, physical or biological science and:

  • For Immunology/Special Chemistry 1 year training and experience in high complexity testing;

  • For Molecular Pathology 4 years training and experience, at least one of which is in molecular pathology methods

Preferred

  • Experience working in a CLIA/GMP/GLP/ISO environment

  • Experience in proteomics

  • Experience with large dataset interpretation and organization
