Job Overview
Children's Hospital Colorado's Rehabilitation and Therapy Services offers a comprehensive 12-month pediatric hand therapy fellowship for occupational therapists interested in treating pediatric hand and upper extremity conditions. We provide clinical and didactic opportunities that give the fellow experience caring for various injuries and conditions of the upper extremities in children and young adults. Please reference the fellowship website for more information on admission criteria and fellowship program requirements. The Occupational Therapy Hand Fellow provides patient care as assigned by supervising clinical faculty. The position is responsible for completing patient charts and documentation according to departmental standards. The Fellow provides occupational therapy services in the orthopedic hand program, including evaluation, treatment, follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatients and/or outpatients referred to the OT department; provides supervision for therapy aides/assistants and students with specific patients or tasks as appropriate; and provides continuous consultation and education to patients and families. The Fellow will complete all requirements for an AOTA accredited fellowship program. Additional Information
Department Name: Broomfield Occupational Therapy Job Status: Full-Time; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits Shift: Monday - Friday at the following locations: North Campus, South Campus, and Highlands Ranch Therapy Care. Shifts will generally be 8 hours between 9am and 5pm, but could vary slightly based on needs of the clinic. This position will be open to applicants between October 7, 2024 and December 31, 2024. Candidates will be screened by the hiring team and those who are selected will be contacted by the end of January 2025 to schedule preliminary interviews, hich will take place (virtually) in February. Finalists will be scheduled for an additional (virtual) interview by the end of February, and a hiring decision is anticipated to be made by early March. Qualifications
EDUCATION -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy EXPERIENCE - At least one clinical rotation in pediatric OT or a hand therapy setting and six (6) months of experience working with children in any clinical or non-clinical capacity such as babysitting, teaching, coaching, camp counselor or leading a youth group. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE - Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
