Cedar Fair Manager, Facilities Maintenance in Buena Park, California

Overview:

Manage the inspection, maintenance, construction and repair of HVAC, kitchen equipment, painting, carpentry, plumbing, graphic arts/sign shop, and other items spanning multiple crafts and trades to ensure optimal operating and aesthetic results. Coordinate the efforts of both direct employees and outside vendors to achieve desired goals and company objectives. Propose and administer departmental budgets. Maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Salary Details: $89,738 - $119,650/yr.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and organizational leadership to departments. Maintain all facility HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen and food preparation equipment, all facility water and sewer systems in a safe, reliable and functioning condition. Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems, schematics, and blue prints.

  • Plans and directs the work of staff including training, assigning, planning, and reviewing work, evaluating work performance, coordinating activities, maintaining standards, allocating personnel, selecting new employees, acting on employee problems. Manage department staff within the work force. Including coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to reach potential and established goals for the individual and division. Identify and develop Crew Leaders.

  • Inspects all aspects of new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently, specifications are within regulatory requirements and inspection reports and work order requests are correct. Conduct regular inspections to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the Park.

  • Set and achieve departmental priorities based on overall business objectives, employee and guest needs. Attention to Detail: Quality control is a large part of this position. Must oversee cleaning, upkeep and safety standards are maintained and efficiencies are realized ensuring that facilities meet government regulations, environmental, health and security standards.

  • Analytical Skills: Must look at various information and make decisions based on company/divisional needs and budget concerns. Drive continuing improvement within own departments. Advise on energy efficiency and cost effectiveness of equipment renovated or purchased.

  • Manage the application of and supervision of shop practices, procedures, shop equipment, use of materials, and layout techniques: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces and sequence of operations.

  • Develop and accurately maintain budgets for all assigned departmental responsibilities. Must have a good understanding of modern business practices and procedures, business letter writing and elements of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation and mathematics. Advanced knowledge of CMMS software, Microsoft Word and Excel is desired. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others is a must.

  • Coordinates the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. Solicits and negotiates agreements for outside services. Orders parts and supplies in accordance with established company budgets and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree / vocational or technical school, focus in Facility Management, HVAC, Business or similar preferred.

  • At least 8-10 years of prior work experience, in facilities management preferred.

  • EPA 608 certification for handling and evacuating refrigerants is required.

  • HVAC-R certification preferred.

  • At least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience is required.

  • At least 6 years' direct experience working in one or more of the following trades: plumbing, HVAC-Refrigeration, electrical, carpentry, painting, kitchen equipment repair, and sign making. Extensive knowledge of building codes, health department food service regulations, and of HVAC-Refrigeration requirements.
