Supplier Quality Manager

Orora Packaging Solutions is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to assist the Quality and Procurement teams in the onboarding and management of our diverse supplier base across all business units.

Summary of Role and How You’ll Fit In

In this role you will be responsible for working with the Quality and Procurement teams to assess potential suppliers to determine their capability to meet quality requirements, conduct supplier audits and assessments, oversee continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers, work with suppliers on corrective action requests, and ensure that supplier documentation is up to date as it relates to industry standards, regulations and legal requirements.

This position will report to the General Counsel and VP, Quality & Compliance

Travel Requirement: 10 - 25% travel

FLSA Status: Exempt

About The Team

In this role you will be part of the Quality Leadership Team and you will be interacting with internal coworkers across multiple business units, suppliers and customers.

What You’ll be Responsible For

  • Support Procurement with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Quality / Compliance risks

  • Support Procurement with supplier development, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance

  • Manage the process for root cause analysis and corrective actions process for supplier quality issues

  • Define and complete the verification of effectiveness for corrective actions arising from supplier quality issues

  • Review, evaluate and provide analysis of supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain

  • Where appropriate, work with the supplier directly to create corrective action plans to address process failures

  • Manage the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) with applicable suppliers

  • Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance

  • Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Lead quality audits for suppliers

  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements

  • Ensuring supplier documentation is up-to-date (surveys, certifications, compliance information, etc.)

  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a quality role with a focus on supplier quality management

  • Experience performing supplier audits in a lead auditor role

  • Deep understanding of FDA compliance requirements for cosmetic and medical packaging

  • Experience related to medical devices or medical device packaging

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred

  • ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

  • Prior role with a focus on supplier quality

  • Experience with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and related certifications

  • Ability to create / update a Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
