We are looking for Software Engineer. This position will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL or Remote.

The Software Engineer will learn quickly to build programing to meet HVAC equipment applications. In this position the individual will have some skills in understanding, meeting and anticipating customer needs. In addition, will work closely with a team of technology experts to define, develop, test, and deploy HVAC system applications and tools.

Siemens works directly with HVAC equipment manufactures to implement HVAC application programming using a portfolio of hardware and system components.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Possess a clear understanding of HVAC principles, application, and industry guidelines

  • Assist with Application architecture design and implementation

  • Adhere to and recommend improvements to coding standards

  • Work in a team environment with shared code; disciplined use of source code control and process documentation

  • Improve software quality by conducting systems analysis, and recommend changes for improvement and implementation

  • Strong Knowledge of software implementation best practices

  • Experience with using graphical function block programming tools

  • Experience and basic knowledge of SAPRO and GitLab, plus but not required

  • Program development using an Agile Development Process

  • Experience using REST API and JSON

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent as minimum qualification

  • 5+ years’ experience with software development and programming focused on HVAC programming an control

  • 5+ years’ experience unit testing, mocking frameworks, automation frameworks

  • 2+ years’ experience with web development, C#, JS frameworks, UI/UX technologies

  • DevOps mindset and experience in a mature CI/CD environment

  • Experience working in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Strong communication, partnership, teamwork and influencing skills required

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent software related program, a plus

  • Experience working with software implementation for HVAC applications and/or systems, preferred

  • Certifications in technology, agile methodologies

  • The pay range for this position is <$108,400 to $146,600>. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
