Brief Job Description

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biochemistry and in other subdisciplines as appropriate, in support of the Chemistry Department’s degree programs in chemistry and forensic chemistry, and, its medicinal plant chemistry micro-credentials. The successful candidate will develop an effective research program in an area related to biochemistry which involves our undergraduate and master’s level graduate students. Teaching introductory chemistry and service to the college, usually in the form of committee work, is also required.

Required Qualifications

-Doctoral degree in biochemistry or a closely-related field

-Advanced coursework in biochemistry or a closely-related field

-Well-developed research plan in an area related to biochemistry that is suitable for participation

by undergraduate and master’s level graduate students

Preferred Qualifications

-Post-doctoral research experience

-Previous experience in teaching lecture-based college courses

-Ability to contribute to teaching forensic science courses, or, other chemistry subdisciplines within

the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs
