Salary: $60,000 ($60,000 to $70,000, depending on experience)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Financial Reporting Analyst for our chain of 19 Nursing Home Facilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's in accounting – Requirement
Background in information systems – This is Plus (not requirement)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Requires strong skills in finance, accounting, and data analysis.
Excellent communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Communicates financial information as needed to external stakeholders.
Routine information, and ad-hoc requests.
Assists the Manager of Financial Reporting in monthly revenue close.
Assists in the annual budgeting process.
Assists with Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting.
Assists in the implementation of new accounting software.
Conduct variance analysis, identifying and investigation of variances from budget (capital and operating), and provide actionable insights to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
Payroll variance commentary on a weekly basis.
Deep dive into Pharmacy on a monthly basis looking for trends on high cost drugs, using brand name over generics. Work with our pharmacists to impact behavior if clinically acceptable.
Assists with budget to actual monthly financial variance analysis
Develop and maintain a forecasting model to account for information unknown during budget development, using actual information in current fiscal year to develop rest of year assumptions. Update on a monthly basis.
Support scenario analysis as needed including union negotiation cost outs, proposed payer contract cost outs, and business plans.
Review expenses for opportunities to capitalize according to GAAP / DOH guidelines to ensure we are maximizing Medicaid capital rate.
Familiarizes, and becomes an expert on building and running reports out EMR system and accounting system.
SQL knowledge is a plus, but not required.
Assists in analysis as needed.
