The Jr. Supply Chain Planner is responsible for coordinating demand and supply planning activities to ensure timely delivery of caps and apparel for NFL, MLB, MBA, and college teams for key events, including but not limited to Super Bowl, World Series, sidelines, and batting practice. The Jr. Supply Chain Planner will support and collaborate with key departments within the organization to ensure optimal management of inventory and supply chain costs by preparing and executing inventory plans, stock buys, and supporting sales and operations plans.
Responsibilities
Support Demand Planning Activities
Assist Planners with the Sales & Operations Planning process
Organize sales data, POS data and trends to develop S&OP plan
Assist planning team with presentations of key drivers to S&OP plan vs. financial plans and make recommendations for any gaps to category leaders, finance, & executive team
Assist with challenges/changes to planning and global production team
Assist with inventory management
Assist with uploading forecasts and safety stock for stock products to ensure New Era has the right inventory to support stock products
Work with internal teams to assist in actions for opportunities for slow moving, obsolete and discontinued inventory
Support the team by coordinating with cross functional teams to ensure successful program roll ups
Prepare data for the demand of global programs and prepare reports to share with leadership to take action
Provide data to category and product teams for making decisions to cancel orders for goods that do not meet minimum requirements
Share recommendations to Planning team and Global Production team on fabric and factory capacities
Assist with Planned Independent Requirement (PIR) management, ensuring any PIRs have approvals, are entered properly to increase demand, and reported out to management
Confirm supply plans and pass requisitions to Global Production
Use output from MRP to develop purchasing requirements
Coordinate Heat Seal Scheduling Activities
Review with internal business partners what heat seal programs will be offered and where they will be produced
Review inventory for base caps and patches, working with customer service, distribution & sourcing to coordinate delivery dates to meet customer expectations
Schedule and issue purchase orders; follow up on production requirements and delivery dates
Interact with and provide direction to key New Era departments including:
Credit/Finance
Customer Service
Manufacturing
Global Sourcing
Logistics
Executive
Report on metrics for key performance indicators and monitor their use; assist with adding, changing, or removing measures as needed
Understand the functions of other departmental positions to provide backup for domestically manufactured products and general coverag
Create purchase requisitions and work with production on issuing
Keep all sensitive matters confidential
Other duties or tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Efficient in Microsoft Programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and demonstrate the ability to learn and utilize new systems
Familiarity or ability to learn MRP and ERP systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.)
Interest in forecasting, planning, and scheduling
Detail-oriented; accomplishes tasks by considering all areas involved showing concern for all processes and tasks, no matter how small
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences
Attuned to the needs of internal customers, employ diplomacy & tact, and work well in a team environment

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in an inventory or supply chain related field
APICS certification in CPIM or CSCP preferred

The salary range for this posted position is $50,500 - $56,500 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
