CTG Part-time Accounting Support Specialist in Buffalo, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Part-time Accounting Support Specialist opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location : Buffalo, NY (Hybrid/Remote)

Duration : 6 months (Part-time, with flexible hours)

Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Support Specialist to assist in reviewing and processing invoices for the ATM department. This is a part-time role with hours varying based on the volume of incoming invoices. The position can be in-person, hybrid, or remote, and we are open to flexible hours (e.g., five days with 4 hours per day, or three days with 7 hours per day).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and process invoices for the ATM department.

  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and ensure they align with accounting records.

  • Assist in data entry and maintain accounting documentation.

  • Conduct routine financial and accounting reports.

  • Reconcile transactions to ledger accounts and balance worksheet totals.

  • Sort and file accounting source documentation as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Ensure invoices are processed efficiently and accurately.

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies.

  • Utilize spreadsheet programs (Excel, Lotus) to prepare reports and manage data.

  • Maintain attention to detail and organizational standards while working under time constraints.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • No supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience (e.g., General Ledger, A/P, A/R, reconciliation).

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet programs (Lotus/Excel).

  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to work accurately under time constraints.

  • Basic mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and verify the accuracy of accounting documents.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Associate's degree or higher in accounting or related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $20 to $25 . Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
