Summary: The Sr. Programmer/Analyst is part of an interdisciplinary team focused on improving patient care, optimizing workflows, ensuring patient safety, and developing innovative software solutions to meet the need of clinical and business users throughout the organization. They are responsible for developing and maintaining web-based tools, server-based processes, and cloud-hosted applications to support business, operational, research, and reporting needs. The candidate will support maintenance and development of our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) API allowing for authorized access to curated datasets. They will also maintain our internal custom report delivery system (The Reporter). They will work with other technical staff and subject matter experts throughout the organization to develop and maintain complex software solutions. They will work with a variety of technologies including front-end user interfaces, back-end application infrastructure and APIs, database systems, 3rd party applications, and hosted tools such as Microsoft o365, Power Platform, Power Virtual Agents, and Intersystems HealthConnect. They may also handle special projects tied to urgent patient safety issues, executive priority work, audit requests, and government regulation.

Salary range is $109,250 - $134,178 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

1. Doctorate degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience; or
5. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of eight (8) years of full-time software development experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate must have experience developing web-based applications with PHP, JavaScript, and Python (other programming languages are a plus) and the Vue.js and Bootstrap frameworks. Relational database experience with MySQL/MariaDB or MS SQL Server are required including design and development of complex database schemas in addition to data queries. Experience developing and consuming REST APIs in PHP is required. The preferred candidate will have experience working with subject matter experts to gather requirements, test software, and maintain software over time. Use of Git/Gitlab for source code revision management is required. The candidate should have experience performing code reviews and mentoring junior developers. Candidates must be familiar with docker containers including container creation and deployment. The preferred candidate must have development experience with the Microsoft o365 platform including the SharePoint API, Power Automate flows, and Power Virtual Agent chatbots. Familiarity with developing/maintaining software customizations for Intersystems HealthConnect and manipulating HL7 messages is required. The preferred candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills.
