Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Fulfillment Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of either first or second shift Warehouse personnel. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for safe, efficient, accurate, and timely Warehouse operations. These operations include, but aren't limited to, receiving, storage, shipping, inventory management, and Warehouse facility (space management). The supervisor will provide direction and leadership to the Warehouse workforce by communicating expectations and holding employees accountable to those expectations.

Responsibilities

Adherence to Safety - 10%

  • Support a safe working environment in the areas of responsibility at all times
  • Correct or report unsafe acts or condition through appropriate channels of resolution
  • Perform safety audits, accident investigations, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary follow-up as required


Supervise Warehouse Operations - 60%
  • Supervise daily operations of a 15-25 person staff, with direct supervision over Shipping Team Leads and all other Shipping personnel
  • Daily operations include, but aren't limited to, safety, quality, picking, packing, material handling, truck loading, and inventory management
  • Ensure work is assigned and prioritized based on the order fulfillment schedule
  • Provide direction to Shipping Office staff to ensure a consistent workflow out to the Warehouse floor and ensure all order fulfillment processes are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by meeting and/or exceeding lead time and order fill rate metrics
  • Maintain a high level of inventory and location accuracy to ensure efficient order picking and proper inventory management. This includes inside and outside material storage locations
  • Be an active participant in Plant improvement opportunities, with a focus on project management, Kaizen events, and WCM projects
  • Provide essential communication between management staff, employees, and other departments
  • Identify equipment and labor requirements needed to effectively meet customer demand
  • Responsible for employee performance appraisals, employee development, corrective feedback, payroll, and training
  • Schedule may vary with time of the year. Must be flexible to schedule changes and must be willing to work overtime as needed


SAP Administration - 20%
  • Provide administration in SAP to areas specific to Warehouse Management (WM)
  • WM in SAP includes, but is not limited to, cycle counting, inventory, material bin location management, material replenishment, and order fulfillment processes
  • Resolve WM issues which may arise during the order fulfillment process, along with issues which may arise due to material movement between Production, Fabrication, and the Warehouse


5S - 10%
  • Optimize efficiency and effectiveness of the Warehouse by maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment
  • Ensure adherence of all Warehouse personnel to the CertainTeed Environmental Policy


Requirements

  • Associates Degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5 years practical experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in Manufacturing and/or Warehousing
  • SAP experience preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word
  • The Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor may be required to assist other Departments when necessary to meet customer demands
  • Recognized commitment to service, quality, and the ability to assist in leading teams to achieve common goals
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Knowledge of supply chain and Warehouse management operations
  • Ability to lead and direct a workforce of 20 employees with various responsibilities
  • Strong organizational skills, with a focus on prioritization of tasks
  • Must possess effective interpersonal skills and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to identify staffing requirements and move resources as required to meet customer demand
  • Established conflict resolution skills with positive results
  • Ability to lead by example and to coach, train, and develop leadership and contributor personnel
  • Familiarity with the operations of a continuous manufacturing environment


Facility

This job operates in a factory setting. The plant floor is a non-climate controlled environment. Will require wearing Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, bump caps, hi vis vests or clothing, steel toe shoes or boots, long sleeves and long pants at all times while on the production floor.

Compensation

  • Base pay is $75, 000 - $80, 000
