Job Description:

A company in the Sunland/Burbank is looking for a bookkeeper to join the financial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, including sales, receipts, payments, and payroll. Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.

  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.

  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage.

  • Balance the books by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

  • Oversee payroll and employee expenses, including benefits and retirement contributions.

  • Report on the status of accounts payable and receivable.

  • Update internal systems with financial data.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

  • Maintain accurate records for all daily and monthly financial transactions.

  • Ensure the company’s financial security by adhering to internal controls.

  • Work closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or relevant role.

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. QuickBooks).

  • Strong data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Associates degree in Finance, Business or related field is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytic thinking.

  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
