Role and Responsibilities
Join our Business Development team, leading the identification and qualification of key EMEA campaigns as we continue to grow within the defence and security market.
CAE has a long history of being a leader in the simulation and training technology field - now we are evolving to become a delivery partner of choice for complete mission and operational support solutions. We’re looking for you to leverage your existing network as well as your experience of business development in the defence and aerospace industry to help us accelerate this evolution and convert our strong future pipeline.
Your role will include:
Leading the qualification of potential contracts ranging from £5m-200m
Understanding the market in which we operate, remaining close to the end user and procurement agencies by actively networking with key contacts
Identifying opportunities at the earliest stage to facilitate marketing contacts and positioning, while determining CAE’s competitive advantage by identifying competitor strengths and weaknesses
Presenting bid strategy and pipelines to senior management, highlighting opportunities, technology requirements, potential partners and CAE discriminators
Performing capture management for small and medium size opportunities, and working closely with dedicated Capture Managers for larger opportunities
Managing the bid team within agreed budget, timescales, and governance processes to produce winning bids
Contributing to company exhibitions, events, demonstrations, and PR
What are we looking for?
Experience in sales/ business development within the defence/ aerospace business
Knowledge of either land, naval, or air domains, ideally from a training and simulation perspective
While not essential, it’d be beneficial if you had previously been serving in the armed forces and had existing connections within the customer base

Hybrid working with a home site of either Burgess Hill or RAF Benson. Your role will involve a lot of a travel so some flexibility will be required
Who would succeed in this role?
We’re looking for you to have excellent networking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proactivity and being self-driven is also beneficial, as well as being able to work at speed to tight deadlines. We’ll look to you to partner with our customers to help them shape and define their requirements.
You must be able to obtain or transfer SC clearance (likely to require 5 years of UK residency). You may also be able to transfer non-UK security clearance from overseas.
