Registered Nurse RN – Emergency Department – PRN, Nights – TH Burleson

Fast-paced, high volume ED department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Burleson, 2750 Southwest Wilshire Blvd, Burleson, TX 76028

Work hours: PRN II/per diem, Night shift (7p shift), Minimum requirement: 3 shifts/per 6-week schedule, Weekend requirement: 1 shifts per 6-week schedule, Holiday requirement: 1 major/1 minor

Department Highlights:

  • Located about 15 miles south of downtown Ft. Worth

  • Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week

  • Providing care for a wide variety of patients from neonate, pediatric and seniors covering an array of illnesses and injuries

Here’s what you need

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Req

  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required

  • PALS – within 90 days of hire required or ENPC – within 12 months of hire required

  • NIHSS – within 90 days of hire required

  • TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

  • 1-year registered nursing experience required

  • Current ED experience strongly preferred - will consider ICU experience

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

  • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients

  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

  • have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • assesses the patient

  • plans the care of the patient

  • intervenes as appropriate

  • evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
